YSS has provided me with a meaningful stepping stone towards something I have always dreamed of. Not just travelling, but travelling with a purpose. Through this mission, I realised that volunteering is not only about helping others, but also about embracing responsibility, resilience, and growth.
The experience challenged me both physically and mentally, especially in the early stages where everything felt overwhelming. However, it also pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me understand the true meaning of commitment and teamwork.
One of the most valuable aspects of this mission is the people. Being surrounded by supportive and dedicated team members made a significant difference. Everyone played their part, not only managing their own responsibilities but also helping others along the way.
